We seized the opportunity to take advantage of some fun things to do in Colorado over the three-day weekend. On Saturday (although we have no pictures of it) we took the boys to the pool one more time before it closed. It was really hot Saturday, even for Denver, so it was nice to spend a few hours relaxing in the water. We also accomplished a few house projects. Bonus!
On Sunday we headed to the Cherry Creek Reservoir ("the beach") to let the boys play in the water and sand ... this is a true sacrifice for Andy and me because we both hate the sand. But, before we went to the reservoir we stopped by Colorado Golf and Ski and registered Gabriel for their kid's ski trade-out program ... he got his first loaner set of skis and boots. A three year old in ski gear is too cute, helmet and everything. We can't wait to see him give it a try this winter!
Below are a few pics of the boys playing at the beach. Judah really seemed to enjoying toodling around in the water! Gabriel enjoyed playing with his sand toys and kicking a ball around in the water.
On Monday, we headed to the mountains! Of course trails are ubiquitous here, but we chose one just past Boulder that was kid-friendly. It was a bit more technical than we anticipated for Gabriel, but he did really well on an out and back, about 2 or so miles round trip. Judah was a champ in the kelty kid carrier.

| It's hard to detect, but this is Andy, Gabriel and Judah coming down the trail ... it was pretty steep! |
