MILK

Judah signed his first word this morning!  Milk. Andy went to go get him out of his crib when he woke up this morning and as soon as he saw Andy he started signing milk, then when he saw me he signed it again, and then again when it was time for his formula supplement.

We started baby signs with him about a month ago, so we are surprised he is already beginning to sign back (Gabriel took nearly 4 months of signing before he signed his first word, so that is our only frame of reference).

Way to go Judah!

Denver Day One

I woke up this morning feeling like I got run over by a truck, accompanied by a visceral fear of everything new and still reeling from the past 24-48 hours of transition. I was, however, also excited to check out every nook and cranny of our new house and distract myself with the task of organizing the merging of our NY apartment and our SC storage space. Gabriel was joy incarnate as he raced around the house playing, constantly going out onto the patio, back inside, out onto the patio, back inside. We decided to try to expel some of that energy and asked him if we wanted to explore the neighborhood. On his bike, of course. Our first stop? A climbing wall. That's right, there is a climbing wall in our neighborhood, about a 5 minute walk away. Gabriel actually did really well for being his first time on a climbing wall, and being three! I love that his first day in Colorado, this is what he did:

I envision many more days like this in our future!

Touch Down

HELLO COLORADO!!

We have officially moved from New York City to Denver, Colorado ... in order to preserve our "NY blog", we've created this site to chronicle our CO life. Welcome to the first post.

After a very long and completely exhausting day yesterday, we finally arrived in Denver around 10:45pm (12:45am NY time). Trekking from the City with all of our luggage and boys in tow by myself, getting through security, a 2 hour delay on the runway, a 3 1/2 hour flight complete with 2 pee pee accidents was  taxing to say the least. But we made it safely, and that is what counts. It will probably take the boys and I a few days to recover from the week without Andy and then the trip out here, but at least we've moved to a place where the pace of life is slower and we don't have anything pressing on our agenda this week (well besides unpacking everything, eek).
